In bad news for people who enjoy taking care of there teeth, today
three Ciaran scientists have concluded that common use of dental floss may
cause syphilis.
As leading researcher, Professor Nörg Räbit, explains. "The mint
flavour sprayed on the floss string during production may be the cause of
syphilis in humans". Although it may not be just a floss issue, he
continues "Many products containing a mint flavour may also cause
this disease".
Prof. Räbit explains that the additive mixes with saliva in the
mouth, which is then passed through the body. When expelled as waste an
ingredient present in mint known as Fela-donici unchana cranite, or 'fuc'
for short, remains in the system, which then mixes with other wastes
forming the syphilis strain and then passes through the human bloodstream.
Many medical professionals do not agree with Professor Räbit and his
teams findings.Leading dentist to the World health organization, Dr. Eric
Richards, commented after reading Räbit's report."It sounds like a
load of toss", he said to reporters. "The only way an individual
can be infected with syphilis is to re-use floss from an infected user,
not from mint flavored items".This renews calls for new bathroom
products after a Swiss woman caught herpes from a hair drier.
