He was the 58 year old that so called 'flew solo' from London to Sydney with co-pilot Richard Meredith-Hardy. Why was it all over the news? Miles Hilton-Barber is blind.
In just under two months these blokes flew across nearly 30 countries, raising massive amounts or money for charity. A good cause, for the reason told that this man, Miles Hilton-Barber, piloted the craft himself over these distances with the newest whoopee-do speech technology. Blind.
I have no objections with the flight. It takes balls for anyone to leave the ground these days. But it has to be quite obvious that Mile's mate, Richard Meredith-Hardy had to actually fly the thing at one point. So he didn't fly solo at all.
